Danny Wilson has almost a clean bill of health for Saturday's trip to Glanford Park.
Wilson has revealed Saturday will come too early for deadline day addition Dave Kitson, but the striker is expected to be in contention for a Bramall Lane double header against Bury and Doncaster Rovers later this month.
The Blades boss also gave updates on two absentees, but was pleased to report one of his summer signings is now fully fit after a niggling muscle problem:
"Chris (Porter) isn't available and Lecsinel (Jean-Francois) comes back from France after undergoing his final check ups at the end of this week, so he won't be available for a few weeks yet.
"Darryl (Westlake) is now over the thigh problem he had at the beginning of the season and was on the bench against Bournemouth, available if we need him."
Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill has publicly said he is hopeful of bringing in at least one new face to take on the Blades.
