Chris Morgan was encouraged and satisfied following the U21s resounding victory over Barnsley at Shirecliffe on Tuesday.
Four second-half goals ensured the Blades ran out worthy 5-1 victors over the Tykes and Morgan was delighted by the response of his youngsters following a disappointing defeat in their previous outing:
"The performance was a great reaction from the lads following the loss at Huddersfield Town. We spoke after that game, obviously I wasn't happy, but it was good to hear the lads weren't happy with themselves and they could see where I was coming from.
"We have worked on the training ground at set-pieces and shape, especially out of possession and we reaped the benefits against Barnsley.
"I have stressed at any level you have to compete and in the end we won the game comprehensively, which is what we deserved.
"It was pleasing to score from a couple of set-pieces, but the biggest positive for me was how we righted the wrongs from the Huddersfield game."
