Saturday's clash against high flying Notts County will be United's 'sternest test' so far this season, according to boss Danny Wilson.
Speaking at his weekly press conference at United's Shirecliffe training base, the Gaffer said: "Notts County have had a terrific start and because of their league position it will be probably be our sternest test so far.
"I think this game should put things in perspective, people are talking up Notts County's start and it has been fantastic, but we are only three points behind them.
"We have had a steady start and there is much more to come, the lads are fitting into positions as we go along, so we aren't saying we are delirious but we are fairly content with our progress so far."
Wilson added: "Some people might not have been happy with a couple of the draws, but if we start getting upset about what has gone then that will be counter productive.
"First and foremost we must defend as we did against Doncaster and Yeovil, where I thought we were excellent, but now we must add that extra dimension going forward."
