Boss buoyed by striking options

14 September 2012

Danny Wilson says his striking options this season give the Blades the best possible chance of winning promotion back to the Championship.

"We have great competition up top right now, we have said before that scoring goals is vital to success, it could be the difference when you are talking such fine margins," said the Blades chief.

"Affectively you can shut up shop defensively and try and nick a goal at the other end, but for us to have so many options should mean we create plenty of opportunities in the final third.

"The competitive edge in that position is vital because scoring goals are going to be what could get us promoted."

Messrs Blackman and Cofie have started every league game to date, but although the Gaffer has been impressed with the duo's contribution, he is encouraged to have other options at his disposal:

"At this moment in time Nick and John's direct approach and pace is a problem to the opposition and it is down to the lads to play to their strengths at the moment.

"We have got other lads pushing them very hard and if we change the direction the end result should still be a positive one."
