Danny Wilson is urging all Unitedites at Bramall Lane to act as the team's 12th man this season and 'make the difference'.
The boss has praised the Blades faithful for their contribution from the terraces to date and hopes the fans continue to back the players throughout what will be a tough campaign:
"We saw on numerous occasions last season what an influence they can have and if we can get them right behind us from the first minute to the last then Bramall Lane becomes a very intimidating place to play.
"I am sure Notts County will bring a decent following, but they will have to make some real noise to out sing our lot.
"Our home support, in particular, can have a massive affect on the lads, it is often underestimated, but we feel so strongly about how the fans can contribute.
"I hope the supporters continue to encourage the lads rather than discourage them through criticism, this group of players will always give everything they have to get the right results.
"Our fans can make the difference, I hope they know that."
