Danny Wilson is readying himself and his playing squad for a tough night's work in front of the live Sky cameras on Monday.
Despite their well-documented problems off the field, Portsmouth have started the season in promising fashion under Michael Appleton and Wilson insists Pompey won't be underestimated:
"I am expecting a very tough test, their squad was put together in a rush at the start of the season but it has quality within it.
"If everything settles down quickly at Fratton Park I can see them challenging at the end of the season.
"Izale (McLeod) is an obvious threat; he is very quick and has started the season well in terms of his goals return.
"Lee (Williamson) is also there and is another terrific player, along with Brian (Howard), who was also at the Lane not so long ago.
"Portsmouth will come to Bramall Lane looking to impress and that effort will be boosted with the host of other ex-Blades in their team."
On the return of Williamson and Portsmouth's future, the Gaffer added: "I hope Willo gets a decent reception, I would give him an ovation if I was a fan because he was fantastic last season.
"Pompey is a great club and it has been so sad to see their situation develop because they have such loyal fans down there.
"Hopefully they are heading in the right direction now and, after Monday, I wish them all the best."
