Matt ready for Pompey

26 October 2012

Matt Hill is warning the Blades not to underestimate Portsmouth on Monday evening.

The in-form defender believes, on their day, Pompey have the quality in their ranks to beat anyone in League One, fuelled by the fact they have five ex United players in their squad:

"Portsmouth have some excellent players, despite getting plenty of publicity for all the wrong reasons in recent times. They remain a big club and they will come here looking to prove a point in front of the Sky cameras.

"They have several players with connections to Sheffield United so no doubt they will have that extra spring in their step when facing their former club."

Ahead of the weekend's fixtures, United sit third in League One with 28 points and are currently unbeaten after 14 matches. Despite these impressive stats, Hill says the players are keeping their feet firmly grounded:

"We aren't getting carried away with our start, but we are fully aware of what the end prize could be.

"It is a long season so we will keep plugging away and hopefully the points will continue to add up."
