Danny Wilson has been impressed by the contribution of Marcus Williams in recent weeks.
The verisitle left-sided player, who has featured predominantly at left-back this season, is someone the Gaffer believes can give him another option in his quest to cope with the loss of Stephen Quinn, who joined Hull City in the August transfer window.
Wilson remarked: "Marcus has done extremely well since coming into the team. You have to remember that losing quality players like Quinny are going to be very difficult to replace.
"We have had to fill that void in different ways, Marcus is more direct and quicker than Quinny, but, with all due respect, he lacks that guile.
"He is getting better and his defensive work is improving with every game. What we want now is for Marcus to be more confident going forward.
"We expect a lot from him at left-back but he is warming to the task very well."
