Harry Maguire praised Matt Hill and George Long following Saturday's win at Leyton Orient.
On the performance of Hill, who replaced the injured Neill Collins, Maguire commented: "With Collo forced to miss the game, me and Matt teamed up at the heart of the defence, we have played together before and I thought our partnership worked well.
"Matt plays a lot differently to Neill but they are both experienced professionals who have played at a higher level. Hilly always looks comfortable and he has excellent positional sense."
Speaking about his close friend, who replaced thigh muscle victim Mark Howard after just 11 minutes, the defender concluded:
"George was fantastic and he has a bright future ahead of him. He fitted straight into the game after Mark was taken off and made a great save from Kevin Lisbie.
"I played with George for a long time through the Academy and if he retains his place I am sure he will perform admirably."
