A late goal denied United's youngsters a deserved win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The Blades led twice courtesy of goals from Diego De Girolamo and Jamie McDonagh, both strikes coming from excellently worked set-piece routines.
United started the game positively and took the lead in the 12th minute when DE GIROLAMO struck home a stunning left-footed free-kick from 25 yards.
Smith and Heather had chances to double the Blades advantage and they were made to rue missed chances as Forest equalised ten minutes before the break after the Blades defence failed to deal with a cross from the left.
The second-half ebbed and flowed with chances coming and going at both ends, but in the 83rd minute it looked liked United had won all three points.
A quickly taken free-kick freed MCDONAGH who beat his marker before rifling home into the bottom corner.
That strike looked like settling the contest as the game approached the latter stages, only for the hosts to grab a late leveller from a deep corner.
