Marcus Williams is calling on United to replicate the away form at Bramall Lane.
Dave Kitson's sublime lob settled the contest at Deepdale, United's fifth away win in succession in all competitions and despite Williams missing a golden chance to make the game safe he was delighted to help register a clean sheet, reserving special praise for goalkeeper George Long.
On his chance to score late on and the performance in general, the left-back said: "I think by the time I got the ball at my feet I was starting to get a nose bleed!
"That would have put the game to bed, but it was a fantastic result and everyone deserves their share of the credit.
"George has made a great save at the death, just like he did at Notts County on several occasions; he has been brilliant since coming into the team. I looked round and thought it was going in, but somehow he kept it out.
"We were workmanlike defensively, but we defend from the front and everyone puts in a shift. We now have two big home games, starting with Walsall, and we will all be ready to perform when called upon."
