Speaking after Tuesday's goalless draw with Swindon Town which saw the Blades hit the League One summit, Danny Wilson believes George Long is 'growing into a very good goalkeeper'.
The 19-year-old has started every game since replacing number one Mark Howard (thigh) at Leyton Orient last month, claiming five clean sheets from those eight appearances and many plaudits.
On Long's progression and ability, the Blades boss commented: "George has improved and is becoming more confident with every game he plays and that is important.
"Every game is bonus to him at this stage, but we are seeing a man out there now, he is growing into a very good goalkeeper.
"He isn't there yet and there maybe a mistake or two in him but that is understandable and part of his development.
"At the moment he is in top form though and long may it continue."
The Gaffer added: "George is playing with confidence and the lads in front of him are assured with him behind them.
"All the lads have trust in each other and nobody is afraid of putting their body on the line or taking responsibility."
