Danny Wilson has commended George Long after the goalkeeper was announced as the League One Player of the Month for October:
"George has been tremendous since the first minute he came into the team, he hasn't put a foot wrong, I just hope I haven't tempted fate now.
"He has looked confident, assured and as I have said before, most importantly, he has developed into a man. George will only improve with games and the more he plays the better his decision-making will get.
"I think his award is thoroughly deserved because he has acquitted himself brilliantly, given his age and lack of experience."
Meanwhile, Wilson says his Manager of the Month gong is more for his players and staff than himself, but admits it is always nice to have some recognition for his team's achievements:
"It isn't a personal accolade, it is a reflection on how well the team has performed and we had some great results last month.
"It is tremendous that those performances have been acknowledged because it shows the players are doing something right. Because the expectation level is so high, perhaps some of our efforts go unnoticed so this proves we are moving in the right direction.
"For the club, it will certainly put us in the spotlight when we have probably been slipping through without too much fuss to date."
