Young winger secures new deal

5 July 2012

Jordan Chapell has penned a new one-year contract with the Blades.

The 20-year-old made one substitute appearance for the first-team last season, against Salisbury City, in the third round of the FA Cup in January.

The Sheffield-born winger played an instrumental part for the reserves, as Chris Morgan's young second string won the Central League title.

Chapell started eight matches, scoring two goals, against Derby County and Port Vale.

Speaking of the winger's new deal, Blades boss Danny Wilson commented: "Jordan deserves this opportunity, after delivering some very good performances in the reserve team last season.

"He has great pace and has the ability to deliver quality balls from wide areas. We sat down as a management team and it was decided that his performances warranted this contract."
