New defender happy to become a Blade
Darryl Westlake believes he can achieve his goal of playing in the Championship with Sheffield United.
The 21-year-old Birmingham-born right-back signed a two-year deal, with the option of a third, at Bramall Lane on Friday after rejecting the chance to stay with Walsall, where he progressed through the ranks.
"This is a club with ambition and one that was unfortunate not to get promoted last season.
"I have come here to try and help get Sheffield United in the Championship because that is where I want to be playing. I like to get forward and the way United play is very attack minded so hopefully I will be able to contribute plenty going forward.
"My ambitions are to play in the Premiership one day so I would be delighted if I could follow the example Matt (Lowton) set this season."
