Wednesday's first pre-season friendly at the New Manor Ground, home of Ilkeston Town, could cause a few awkward moments in the Wilson household this week.
Blades boss Danny will take his team south for the short trip to Nottinghamshire where United are likely to come up against his son Laurie who is a key member of Town's midfield.
Of the family affair, which will see Mrs Wilson, a regular at United matches last term, remain impartial from the comfort of her own armchair, the Gaffer joked:
"Laurie is a big powerful lad, who is strong in the air just like his dad!
"He signed for Ilkeston last season and has been playing in non-league for a number of years now and he thoroughly enjoys it.
"There is also a certain player in their team who is related to one of our defenders so it should be a good game as both team look to impress.
"The missus won't be there, she won't turn up because her stomach would be wrenching too much.
This will be the Blades only public outing before the squad head off for seven days in the heat on the Mediterranean island of Malta on Friday, Wilson added:
"The players are looking forward to the trip as always, but it is the heat that is the problem.
"The people in Malta are fantastic, the sponsors are so accommodating and positive and the fans always seem to turn out in numbers, it is just training that is difficult because the heat is meant for holidaymakers and we certainly aren't there for a break!
"The hotel is fantastic and we enjoyed an excellent start to the season after staying there last summer, so let's hope that is a good omen."
