Summer addition ready for the season ahead
United's first summer addition, John Cofie, is looking forward to playing at Bramall Lane again.
The Ghanaian-born striker, who signed on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United, has already experienced playing in front of 30,000 fans at S2 in the FA Youth Cup and admits he didn't think twice about making the switch across the Pennines.
Casting his mind back to that 2-2 draw in May 2011 when he was part of the Red Devils squad, Cofie was on the receiving end of a crunching tackle from Harry Maguire, a memory that is now in the forefront of his mind:
"I remember Harry (Maguire) from the game and he is a top player who did really well in the first-team last season. He is a top class defender and we have already had a bit of banter, talking about when we played against each other last year. It was an enjoyable experience playing in front of such a big crowd, especially as it was the FA Youth Cup Final.
"It wasn't a difficult decision to make to come here, because just from that night I know what passion the fans have for Sheffield United."
The 19-year-old is eager to making a lasting impression on Unitedites, adding: "I like to play on the shoulder of defenders and try to use my pace and power to make goalscoring opportunities for myself and my team-mates.
"I have two main aims whilst I am here, play regularly and help the team win matches consistently by scoring goals.
"I know how the manager wants the lads to play and that is encouraging for me. I have watched the Blades a few times and I am looking forward to being part of things in the coming months."
