No hangover from last season, says Danny Wilson
Danny Wilson is confident his players won't suffer from the dreaded play-off final hangover.
The Blades have returned to their Shirecliffe training base this week, just six weeks after losing on penalties to Huddersfield Town at Wembley, but Wilson believes his troops can hit the ground running when the new campaign kick-offs next month:
"It doesn't seem two minutes since the end of last season, but that is the way these days, the new season comes round so quickly.
"It is always great to get the lads back together and they are full of beans. The lads look in great spirits so there doesn't appear to be a hangover.
"We are in a similar position to where we were last summer, following the relegation, and we don't know how the lads will react until the season gets underway. The lads will be very determined to make a good start and handle the expectations again."
The Gaffer insists the hard slog has commenced on the training pitch but Wilson says the players appreciate it is a must at this time of the year:
"It is a testing week or so, the lads are tested individually to check on their fitness levels. It isn't a nice part of the season for anybody, but we will start to progress technically as time progresses.
"It is really hard graft but it has to be done. If there was a pill to be taken for fitness everyone would take it!"
