In weather not normally associated with pre-season training, United's players return to work today (Monday).
Danny Wilson's pre-season programme gets underway as the boss prepares for another promotion push.
Just six weeks have elapsed since the play-off defeat but the squad is expected to be refreshed and ready for action. Fitness coach Dave Morrison and the management team will be putting the players through their paces privately, inside the confines of the Shirecliffe training base, working towards the big kick-off on Saturday 11 August, the Capital One League Cup tie with Burton Albion.
The first chance supporters have of seeing the players is the pre-season friendly at Ilkeston on Wednesday 18 July, which is followed by two fixtures in Malta and friendlies at Rotherham United, Hallam FC, Morecambe and Matlock Town.
