Lecsinel Jean-Francois is expected to give boss Danny Wilson an early Christmas present, after returning to training this week.
The Haitian international has been sidelined for much of the season with two unrelated knee injuries, the second of which came at Notts County in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in October, but Wilson has confirmed the defender, along with goalkeeper Mark Howard, are edging ever nearer to a return to full fitness.
Speaking to the assembled press at his weekly news conference, the Gaffer revealed: "Lecsinel has trained this week, he isn't ready for a game just yet but he is looking strong.
"Getting Lecs back will be like signing a new player and the same will go for Dave (Kitson), Tony (McMahon) and Mark (Howard) when they return from their respective injuries.
"As we enter the Christmas period we need all the squad to be available - to be able to draw on the experience of the aforementioned players will give the squad a massive boost.
"I would like to think all the lads will be fit and available for the Christmas period or early in the New Year at the latest."
