Danny Wilson will be able to call on the services of Richard Cresswell when United host Bournemouth at Bramall Lane on Saturday.
Cresswell agreed a player-coach earlier this week and will now come into contention to feature against the Dorset outfit, managed by Paul Groves.
The Blades boss, though, looks set to be without Chris Porter (knee) and Darryl Westlake (thigh) for the visit of the Cherries and minimal changes are expected from the side that drew 1-1 at Colchester United.
Porter has had an injection to the aforementioned knee and isn't able to train for the next 10 days, whilst Westlake has just resumed full training following a muscle problem that has hampered his early season progress.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth will have to make do without the services of Harry Arter (suspension), who was red-carded for two bookable offences against Preston North End last weekend.
The Cherries, who have drawn all three league matches to date, have several attacking players at their disposal including summer recruits Lewis Grabban from Rotherham and Eunan O'Kane from Torquay.
