Strikers Joe Ironside and Danny Philliskirk both netted doubles as United recorded a comfortable friendly victory on Thursday evening.
Ironside netted both his goals inside the opening 17 minutes, whilst Philliskirk's brace came in a short space of time late on.
Chris Morgan was in charge of United's XI that made the short trip to S10 to take on Hallam at the world's oldest football ground.
Kicking up Hallam's famous slope in the first half, United quickly asserted themselves and two goals inside 17 minutes put the non-league outfit on the back foot.
IRONSIDE netted his first on eight minutes, turning in a McFadzean cross after Philliskirk's neat turn and goalkeeper Long was called into action soon after when he directed Wankiewicz's long-range free-kick around a post - Hallam's only serious effort of the first period.
United's second arrived on 17 minutes, this time IRONSIDE scoring with a well-placed header after Chapell had beat his man and whipped in a cross from the right.
Ironside also had two chances to complete his hat-trick before the break but his first was saved and he then was unable to accept a gift after a mistake by the home goalkeeper. Philliskirk also had an effort parried as the Blades dominated before the interval.
The same pattern followed after the break and had it not been for a handful of saves from reserve goalkeeper, Hancock, keeping out a McFadzean volley and Philliskirk on two occasions, the scoreline could have been greater. Harriott also hit a half-volley wide of the target.
Mastery tested Long for the visitors before United netted twice inside as many minutes late on, spoiling Hancock's performance. On 87 minutes, Westlake stepped out of defence, allowing PHILLISKIRK to lift the ball over the goalkeeper, then substitute Williams provided the cross for PHILLISKIRK to complete his quick-fire double.
