Danny Wilson believes his team as 'progressing nicely' as the competitive action edges ever closer.
Goals from Tony McMahon and Joe Ironside saw the Blades record their second victory in fives days against Morecambe at the Globe Arena on Saturday and the Gaffer was encouraged by what he saw:
"These games are difficult to analyse because they are for training purposes but for the majority it is another 90 minutes in the bank. We played some decent football at times but as always we need to tighten up in several other areas and improve.
"At this stage we are never over critical of performances, but we what we are aiming for is to be in the best possible shape for the Burton Albion fixture.
"After a few weeks off, decision making can be sometimes rusty so our games to date have been about getting back to basics and doing what we are good at and we seem to be progressing nicely."
The boss dismissed worries over the fitness of John Cofie after the Manchester United loanee was forced off midway through the first-half and Wilson says he knows the majority of the team that will be in action in the Capital One Cup at the weekend:
"John (Cofie) will be fine, he had a bit of a hip problem, but it wasn't anything serious and withdrawing him was just a precaution.
"We know the nucleus of the team, but there are still areas open for discussion and this is the time to be thinking about what we need."
