Boss wants Fun Day success

10 August 2012

Danny Wilson is hoping his players can cap the Blades Family Fun Day by putting on a winning performance against Burton Albion in the Capital One Cup.

"At League One level a good cup is always important because it is an opportunity to get the public in to Bramall Lane," said the Blades chief.

A free Family Fun Day in the Cherry Street car park (from 9am until 2pm) will precede the cup tie.

Wilson added: "We would love for a win to start our campaign off and, of course, progressing to the next round would generate more income. We have made things as easy as possible for supporters by bringing the game forward to a Saturday.

"Hopefully the Family Day at the Club in the morning will attract more supporters than a midweek clash would."

Although the Blades will be heavy favourites with the bookies to progress, the Gaffer is taking not for granted:

"We have watched Burton a few times in pre-season and they look like they mean business. We will give them the utmost respect and won't underestimate anybody this season, whether that be in the first game or the last.

"Burton are going through a transition since Paul Peschisolido left the club, but Gary Rowett did really well at the end of last season because they looked like nose diving out of the Football League.

"Last season means nothing to anybody this time around and we are in the same boat, we must start afresh and Burton will be thinking the same."
