Boss comments on Millers victory

1 August 2012

Danny Wilson enjoyed United's victory at Rotherham's New York Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Speaking to the media after the game, the Blades chief said: "We played against a very good Rotherham side and I thought the tempo of the game was excellent.

"Even though both teams made a number of changes, the game stayed at a good pace and never became disjointed, as can sometimes be the case in pre-season fixtures.

"There were chances at both ends and you saw two very committed teams out there, it was a very good game.

"It was a terrific goal that separated the two teams, John (Cofie) created it out of nothing really when there didn't look like there was anything on."

The South Yorkshire derby gave Wilson the chance to give his senior players more minutes on the pitch, although a notable absentee was Neill Collins.

The boss explained: "Neill has a throat infection so it was timely that we had brought Matt Hill back and he was able to get some valuable game time."
