Sheffield United's Under 18s returned to winning ways with a good performance and three goals at Birmingham City.
Two goals from Sam Ackroyd either side of Daniel Jebbison's strike put the Blades in a comfortable 3-0 lead before the Blues pulled a goal back and put plenty of pressure on after Harvey Cullinan was sent off late on.
With kick-off delayed half an hour, it was the hosts who started better without ever troubling Josh Chapman, before Ackroyd had a goal disallowed for offside as United started to find their rhythm.
Angelo Cappello volleyed over as the half hour mark approached and the Blades pressure finally told when Ackroyd got on the end of Cappello's cross from the right to make it 1-0.
Within two minutes of the restart, the Blades doubled their lead. A long ball forward from Chapman allowed Jebbison to beat his marker for pace, run through on goal and slam home a second for United.
Cappello went close to a third but couldn't quite nick the ball past the goalkeeper, but they did add a third just ten minutes into the second half when Jebbison controlled Zak Brunt's cross and laid the ball off for Ackroyd who slotted home his second of the game.
Birmingham pulled a goal back with just over 25 minutes remaining when a tap in at the back post left Chapman with no chance after initially getting down to make a good save.
Both sides had chances to score as the game wore on, the hosts leaving gaps at the back as they pushed forward looking for a second goal.
Cullinan then saw red with two minutes to go for pulling down the Blues striker when in on goal, but despite plenty of pressure the Blades stood firm to seal the three points.
