United's U18s got back to winning ways on Saturday with an emphatic victory at Birmingham.
In a starting XI consisting of five U16s, the Blades were full value for the victory over the Blues.
City looked to test United early on as a shot following a counter attack forced Dewhurst into a smart stop.
But in the 19th minute, the Blades opened the scoring. Kelly broke down the right and squared to CAPELLO, who shifted the ball to his left foot and fired low past the goalkeeper.
United used their momentum to keep pushing the Blues back and as Lawrence managed to find POTTS in the area and the forward slotted home to double the Blades advantage on 26 minutes.
City would peg United back just before the break, scoring from inside the penalty area.
But only three minutes after the interval the Blades would have regain their two-goal advantage as Potts played a through ball to Lawrence, he saw his strike was cleared off the line but go into the net off a retreating defender.
City refused to give in though and again reduced the deficit just before the hour.
But with 25 remaining, DOHERTY curled home a fourth for United, who comfortably saw out the game from that point to secure a deserved win.
Blades: Dewhurst, Gordon, Williams, Weaver, Cutts, Belehouan, Kelly (Ackroyd 71), Doherty, Lawrence (Ompreon 62), Potts, Capello (Neal 71).
