United's U18s picked up three much needed points at home to Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
A brace from Simeon Oure, and further strikes from Sam Ackroyd, Reon Potts and Sam Ompreon ensured Derek Geary's side returned to winning ways at Shirecliffe.
The young Blades started brightly with Ackroyd and Potts both going close on separate occasions in the opening stages of the game.
But it would be the visitors who drew first blood however, as Dewhurst was beaten low to his left with a well struck after 16 minutes.
The Clarets wouldn't be in front for long as on 28 minutes a great Ackroyd through ball found OURE in on goal and the forward drilled home to restore parity.
United would continue to push on as the break approached but failed to create anything of significance.
Burnley struck the woodwork twice in the opening 10 minutes of the second-half but luckily for the Blades they couldn't didn't the net.
Moments after Burnley would be made to rue their missed opportunities as it was Oure this time that provided for ACKROYD to poke the ball home.
Just after the hour the lead would be extended to two goals as Kelly worked his way down the right and drilled the ball across the face of goal leaving POTTS with a simple tap in.
With 20 minutes left on the clock the Blades were eager to put the game to bed and OURE took matters into his own hands with a superb run from midfield ending with a great strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Just a couple of minutes later Burnley would net a consolation goal curling home a free kick from 25 yards.
But it would be United who had the final say as a cross from the right was met well by OMPREON, who headed home at the front post after coming off the bench.
