United's U18s earnt a deserved point in the capital on Saturday, to extend the unbeaten run in 2017 to ten matches.
Having won the Professional Development League (North) title at Sheffield Wednesday last Tuesday, substitute Jordan Hallam netted with 12 minutes remaining against the R's, who had taken control of the game after half-time, following Casey Stewart's opener.
Lead Coach Derek Geary remarked: "It was a difficult game but in the end a far result, we certainly deserved something for our effort.
"After a tough week and we had a lot of tired bodies out there, yet they still put in a shift to keep the unbeaten run going in what is proving to be a fantastic season."
United opened the scoring in the 44th minute, after an even first period. Greaves did well on the right and his cross was headed home by STEWART.
But two goals in six minutes, midway through the second-half, looked to have swung the game decisively in the hosts favour.
Firstly, they levelled at the second attempt, scoring on the rebound after Warhurst could only parry a shot into the path of BOWLER who applied the finish from close-range
Then, in the next attack, BOWLER got the better of Brown before smashing home.
But United refused to accept defeat and deservedly levelled in the 78th minute. Substitute HALLAM beat two defenders before scoring from a tight angle to earn the Blades a share of the spoils.
Blades: Warhurst, Portman (Charlesworth 72), Brown, Belehouane (Burton 62), Ferguson, Harrington (Hallam 69), Hawkes, Ford, Greaves, Parkhouse, Stewart.
