United's U23s cruised to victory over Nottingham Forest at the Impact Arena, with striker Jake Wright scoring four first-half goals.
Rhys Norrington-Davies was also on target in the first period, as the Blades extended the unbeaten run to four matches in all competitions, with Ben Heneghan and Samir Carruthers completing 90 minutes.
The Blades would take the lead inside a minute, straight from kick-off, as Norrington-Davies crossed for WRIGHT to head home.
On the quarter hour the lead was doubled, and it was WRIGHT again. The striker picked the ball up and powered into box, turned a defender brilliantly and slotted the ball past the Forest goalkeeper.
Forest would try to get themselves back into the game shortly after with Johnson striking on the half volley from just outside the area, but Eastwood got down well to turn it wide.
On 29 minutes, United went three up as a deadly counter attack saw Doherty put in a ball from the right and NORRINGTON-DAVIES finished well.
A tremendous first period continued to deliver goals United's way as a goalmouth scramble following a corner saw WRIGHT stab home to seal his hat-trick after just 37 minutes.
To the astonishment of those in attendance at Alfreton it would indeed by 5-0 to the Blades before the break and this one came with a slice of luck as Doherty let fly from outside the area it ricocheted off WRIGHT and into the back of the net.
The second period was unsurprisingly a much quieter affair with Forest looking to find some sort of consolation with one of the best opportunities being when centre half Ahmedhodzic carried the ball all the way from the back into the United area Eastwood came out to collect the ball at his feet.
