United's U23s made it two wins in from two in the Professional Development League with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Cardiff City.
A Tyler Smith brace either side of a Jordan Hallam strike led the Blades to three points at Stocksbridge.
The first chance took a while as Gilmour's free-kick from 25 yards was well saved by the Bluebirds' stopper.
A great flowing move would follow with Parkhouse and Smith linking up to play Hallam in one on one, only for him to see his shot saved.
The breakthrough deservedly came for the Blades in the 38th minute though as Doherty beat the keeper to the ball 25 yards out and would ride City challenges before laying off to SMITH who curled into the top corner from just inside the box, beating two defenders on the line.
Smith would find himself in again from a Norrington-Davies pass down the left hand side but the shot wasn't strong enough to double United's lead.
The first meaningful action of the second period would come when Norrington-Davies burst down the left hand side in the 58th minute and fired in a low and hard cross into HALLAM who turned the ball in first time via the post to give the Blades breathing space.
Just five minutes later a long Dewhurst goal kick was flicked on well by Parkhouse which sent through Hallam who unselfishly squared to SMITH who tapped home from close range to bag his brace and put the game out of reach of the Bluebirds.
The Blades end the game on the attack as Gilmour's cross was nodded onto the post by Cantrill, which was the final meaningful action of the contest.
