United have allowed development forward Jordan Hallam to join Scunthorpe United on a permanent basis.

The 20-year-old, who scored on his debut during a four-game loan spell in the National League with Chesterfield before Christmas, leaves with immediate effect with United securing a significant sell on fee and other benefits, should the player impress.

Hallam will be managed by former Blades midfielder and assistant boss Stuart McCall at Glanford Park.

The departure of Hallam, follows the permanent transfers of fellow youngsters Harvey Gilmour (Tranmere Rovers) and Callum Semple (Ross County).
