United's Under 18s struck four goals for the second time in four days as they beat bottom of the table Colchester United in the penultimate match of the season.
It had looked a little nervy for a while when Jordan Amissah's kick an attacker and eventually found the net via the post to give the visitors an early lead.
United had already missed chances as both Tom Williams and Jake Kelly fired over in the opening five minutes before Sam Ackroyd just couldn't stretch enough to get on the end of Leo Gaxha's ball across goal.
The equaliser did come before the break though. Patient football from United saw George Broadbent work some space on the edge of the box, his effort was saved but followed up by Josh Scott who tapped home to find the net once again after his goal on Saturday.
United had to even more patient to find the goal that would put them ahead as the game reached its final 15 minutes.
Momentum was building. Kelly had fired wide after a great solo run before Scott headed against the bar from close range.
The goal did eventually come and it was worth the wait when it did. A neat move from United ended in Kelly rolling the ball for Ackroyd, the striker stepping over the pass to allow Broadbent time and space to fire home a powerful effort.
From then on, the floodgates opened. A loose ball was intercepted by United minutes later and Scott lobbed home his second of the game to put the result beyond doubt.
The Blades kept attacking and added a fourth when a defender headed Ackroyd's cross into his own goal and Williams came closest to adding a fifth when his shot from close range was well blocked.
Blades: Amissah, Skerritt, Brooks, Williams, Wilson, Barnes, J. Kelly, Broadbent (Stainrod 77), Ackroyd, Scott, Gaxha (Maguire 58).
