Danny's view

Posted on: Sat 11 Feb 2012

The patience with which United showed to breakdown a stubborn Wycombe Wanderers side on Saturday pleased Danny Wilson.

United's chief gave his assessment of the Bramall Lane performance straight after the game, saying:

"It was difficult because the way Wycombe played, we needed a level of patience and fortunately we showed that. They were stubborn in their resistance, it is not always easy to break down a team but after the first goal we weren't in any danger.

"The first goal was always going to be critical and when we got it I thought it was one way traffic from then on - it was a deserved three points.

"Home form is important. If you win your games it gives you a chance to stay in the shake up at the end of the season."

Will Hoskins scored a debut goal, five minutes after being introduced as a substitute, whilst Ched Evans added the second. The victory was completed when Kevin McDonald's late shot took a couple of deflections before beating goalkeeper Nikki Bull.
