Keeper content with debut point
Debutant Steve Simonsen was pleased that the Blades rescued a point in Saturday's derby at Doncaster.
The goalkeeper, signed on loan from Stoke City on Friday, went straight into the team and although his first contribution was picking the ball out of the net, he was heavily involved in the 1-1 draw.
He said: "It was a good game and, for me, it was great just to be playing again. The lads had said that they had lost a few on the bounce away from home and a taking a point keeps us in the hunt.
"The lads will be the first to admit that it was a poor first half, we couldn't pass or keep the ball and we were allowing Doncaster to come on to us too much.
"We were fortunate that we didn't go in at half-time two or three down but in the second half it was a complete role reversal, we forced them back and battered them, with a bit more luck the lads thought we could have had a penalty or two."
Simonsen added: "When they scored I hadn't touched the ball, it wasn't the best of starts, my first touch was kicking the ball back to the halfway line for the restart. These things happen, it was a nice save to make close to my near post and that got me into the game."
