Stripping for cash - the Blades Way

Posted on: Fri 16 Oct 2009

Sheffield United skipper Chris Morgan instigated a revealing and unusual photo shoot at the club's training base.

Listening to local commercial radio station Hallam FM on Thursday morning, and following the funeral of former presenter Dave Kilner at Sheffield cathedral, the centre back came up with the idea of supporting the station's Cash For Kids - Stripping for Cash appeal.

However, he has misunderstood the concept - thinking people were getting their kit off to raise cash rather than wear their favourite football shirt for work. The result was he and other players made a donation and posed for some daring photos (attached) at the Shirecliffe training ground.

Chris said: "I've been informed that we've read the script wrong, we thought you had to strip at work - not wear a strip for work!

"But it's good spin for us, we wear a strip all week so we've decided to have a bit of fun and strip off. As soon as I mentioned stripping and having their picture taken the lads couldn't wait to take their tops off - especially after they had done their weight training earlier in the morning!

"With the funeral of Dave Kilner the other day, he became a good friend of mine through Help A Hallam Child (now Cash For kids), we thought it was good timing to do something for Cash For Kids," added Chris.
