United's manager, Kevin Blackwell said: "Obviously the focus of the trip will be staging an intense pre-season training programme for the squad. However, one of the successes of last year's visit to Malta was being able to stage a number of opportunities that brought the team closer to the supporters. Once again the team will look forward to enjoying the same level of connection with the Blades travelling support."

Key dates for the Blades tour activities have also been confirmed, including a welcome drinks for Blades fans at O'Casey's bar in St. Julian's (12th July), a supporters' forum hosted by United Manager Kevin Blackwell (13th July), a beach BBQ attended by the players (14th July), a Blades training session open to the public (15th July) and a Sheffield United pre-season game that will take place on Malta's sister island, Gozo (16th July).

A range of discounted deals have been made available at www.alpinemalta.net/SUFC - the site offers a wide selection of reduced-rates for hotel accommodation and supporter activities. Some of the hotels are close to getting fully booked, so fans wanting to secure the cheapest deals are advised to book as soon as possible.
