'e11even' looking to make its mark

Posted on: Wed 24 Feb 2010

A brand new bi-monthly fan magazine has been launched across the region and is available to buy from the club shop, priced at £2.50.

'first e11even' is written independently for the fans by the fans and features a wide range of articles from across the region. As well as featuring the Blades, it comprises another 8 clubs as well as the Back The Bid Sheffield 2018 Team & the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA.

The aim of the magazine is to reflect the diverse footballing culture of the region and act as a calling card both nationally and internationally.

Editor Blake Welton said: "The magazine is very much about the fans and we are looking for people to get involved in whatever way they can - whether it's buying the magazine or being a contributor and writing about your club or football in general."

"The fact that Sheffield United has embraced this independent fan initiative is something I am grateful for. They share the same vision of uniting fans and clubs for positive change and overall better matchday experiences."

"The support that all the clubs have given has been overwhelming - they really do want the fans to have an independent outlet that can have strong communication links to them," the 25-year-old added.

Issue 1 contains articles such as 'The View From S2'; a retrospective account on the game at Leicester that saw Sheffield United promoted in May 1990, a team of the decade piece entitled 'e11even for the decade', competitions and a whole lot more.

If you cannot get to the Sheffield United superstore, first e11even is also online at www.firste11even.co.uk so you can always check out all the latest goings-on and get in touch with the magazine.
