Experienced Premiership performer Nyron joined United on loan for the remainder of the season on the final day of the January transfer window, trading places with Matt Kilgallon.
The London-born defender, who can operate at right back or in a central role, began his career at Gillingham, making his debut in 1998 and clocked up more than 150 appearances before Mick McCarthy signed him for Sunderland in 2005.
He became a cult favourite in the north east and won the Player of the Year award in 2006/07 but Steve Bruce's arrival saw his chances limited and agreed the switch to Bramall Lane to further his career.
