Kevin Blackwell added another Yorkshireman to his ranks in late September when Richard agreed a three-month loan deal, following Stoke City team-mate Andrew Davies to Bramall Lane. Making his debut in the 3-3 draw with Ipswich Town, Richard adds versatility to the Blades ranks as he can operate in a central role or down either flank.
He began his career with York City and has had spells with Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City, Preston North End and Leeds United before signing for Stoke in 2007 and helping them into the Premier League, scoring a total of 11 goals in their promotion season.
