A highly-experienced goalkeeper, who agreed another one-year deal in the summer of 2009 and will this season also take on a coaching role with the young custodians at Bramall Lane. Initially, Ian impressed enough during a loan spell in late 2004 for Neil Warnock to make a move to sign him permanently in the summer of 2006. He began his career at QPR and had spells at Newcastle United and Peterborough United before making his mark at Birmingham City, where he spent 12 seasons, making more than 350 appearances for the Club. A short spell at Leeds United preceded his move to Bramall Lane.
