Team news: Blades v Birmingham

Posted on: Fri 27 Jan 2012

James Beattie (suspension) and Chris Morgan (knee) are the only two certain absentees at the weekend, Danny Wilson has confirmed.

Ahead of Saturday's fourth round tie against Championship promotion-chasers Birmingham City, Wilson, who will have the luxury of naming seven substitutes rather than the usual five, says the competition for places is fierce, despite naming the same matchday 16 in the last three matches.

On declaring a clean bill of health, the boss said: "We are looking strong, we haven't got any injuries. Ryan (Flynn) has trained all week and several are pushing for inclusion.

Birmingham will head to Bramall Lane without Chilean winger Jean Beausejour, who joined Premiership strugglers Wigan Athletic on Wednesday.

United's backline may come up against giant Serbian frontman Nikola Zigic, whilst Marlon King and Adam Rooney are also possible starters for the Blues.

Curtis Davies is likely to be at the heart of City's defence, although he has been in fine form at the other end of the field in recent weeks, netting four headed goals in his last seven appearances, including a double in the 3-0 victory at St Andrews last Saturday.
