Michael Doyle is hoping the Blades can dent Nottingham Forest's promotion ambitions on Tuesday night and in the process start the Blades push for survival.
The tenacious Dubliner still believes United have enough time on their side to preserve their Championship status and has insisted the team's success comes before any personal glory:
"Every game is a cup final for us, it has been in recent weeks but we start again tomorrow and we have 11 games to turn this around.
"As an individual you always want to make more of an impact on the team. I am trying to bring my qualities to the cause and am doing okay, but that isn't good enough at the moment.
"The main thing for the team though is the results. I am sure a lot of the lads would take playing terribly every week and winning, or even not playing at all if the lads that did play got the three points.
"I don't want to think about playing in League One but whatever happens there is going to be a rebuilding job for the Gaffer in the summer. This isn't a position you expect to find Sheffield United in as it is normally challenging at the top end of the table."
Ahead of tonight's clash against promotion chasing Forest, Doyle is eager to get that elusive win that could be the catalyst for a revival but appreciates it won't be easy against Billy Davies's men, despite their surprise defeat against Hull City at the City Ground at the weekend:
"Forest are a good side and still well in contention for automatic promotion. They had a slip up against Hull on Saturday and hopefully we can take advantage of that, but they will want a big response so it will be tough.
"To stay up would be a massive achievement for everyone here but to do that we must get on a winning run soon and kick on from there."
