In October 2008, United's curse of playing live on Sky struck again at Hillsborough as Wednesday took the honours in the first Steel City derby of the season.
The Owls were helped considerably by referee Mike Dean's decision to send off United's Matt Kilgallon with less than 30 minutes gone.
Paddy Kenny, who later saved a penalty from Deon Burton, was lobbed by Steve Watson for the only goal in a bizarre game which saw Wednesday's Jermaine Johnson also sent off, but after he had already been substituted.
