With just four games left of the season and the Play-Offs a remote possibility United take on Coventry City on Saturday with Kevin Blackwell insisting that his players will not slacken their approach:
"Pride, in a word, and no player should need anymore than that anyway. We have a professional duty both to ourselves and to our supporters to give our all, and planning for next season can still depend to some extent on what is achieved now.
"We never want to do anything other than win every game. Of course, that isn't always possible but we want to send our fans home with a win in the bank and a smile on their faces.
"Realistically we are struggling to make the play-offs, but I'm proud of the players and the way they have dealt with the situation. They have shown that they have a great attitude and that's what has given us the chance to be in and around of play-offs for so long this season.
"We played well at home for a lot of games, our home record is phenomenal and if we keep performing like we have I'll be delighted.
"I am proud of our achievements, but I know some people aren't because of the big expectations. It has been a hard season, we've had four team changes every game for the last five, but Monday was only our second defeat in seven games.
"On Saturday - and for the rest of the season - I want our players to give me the attitude they have shown me all along, which they have done consistently and I commend the professionalism."
Coventry have suffered a recent dip in form and have dropped to 14th in the table, and Blackwell recognizes the similarities:
"Their season has been similar to ours in that they have both good spells and bad spells, and Chris Coleman has been in a similar situation to me.
"They are on a bit of a bad run at the moment but they have goals in them and will be looking to build for next season as well."
