In October 2008, James Beattie netted twice as United outclassed Bristol City in the final game before the second international break of the season.

Beattie scored with a volley and a header - both from David Cotterill corners - as United recorded a third successive maximum.

An own goal from Liam Fontaine was sandwiched between the two goals from Beattie, who also headed off his own line in the last ten minutes.

Blades: Kenny, Naysmith, Cotterill (Howard 75), Kilgallon, Beattie, Webber (Dyer 82), Speed, Sharp, Quinn, Naughton, Ehiogu.
Unused: Sun, Bennett, Spring.
