Skipper demands away improvement
Skipper Chris Morgan is urging the Blades to rectify their away form, starting at Bristol City on Saturday, as United look to be among the runners and riders for promotion come the beginning of 2010.
Morgan insists that the destiny of the season is still very much in United's own hands and is keen to draw a comparison with previous campaigns under the stewardship of Kevin Blackwell:
"We can look forward to two long away trips that on paper will be testing, but it gives us a massive opportunity to get our away form going before Christmas.
"We have got a lot of games coming up over the next couple of months and we really have to knuckle down and make sure we are in a decent position come the New Year.
"If we can put a few results together now then, come January, we should have built up some momentum like we have done previously and from then on we looked really strong."
Looking ahead to Saturday's trip to the West Country, Morgan is anticipating a difficult afternoon at the office, but believes that the Blades should take the bull by the horns against the Robins:
"Ashton Gate is always a tough place to go, their fans really get behind them and Bristol (City) always seem to be a difficult team to play against.
"Nicky Maynard has scored quite a few goals this season so he is one we must watch, but I would prefer us to go there, take responsibility and getting on with our own performance."
