Andrew Davies is looking forward to his second South Yorkshire derby with the Blades and is desperately hoping for the same outcome as the first.
Davies though is well aware that it will be no easy ride at Oakwell as he prepares to go up against a few familiar faces:
"Barnsley are a strong and powerful team, but I think with the strength and ability within our squad there is nothing we can't handle.
"Adam Hammill is a real threat and I know what he can do from our days at Southampton. When he focuses on his game he can be fantastic and Barnsley seem to have taken care of him and developed his ability.
"They have a couple lads who I know from Stoke (Shotton and Dickinson) who are also good players so it will be a tough one, but one we can win."
The added spice of derby day football is nothing unusual to Davies, who says earning three crucial points will be for the fans:
"Every local derby has a different spark and it would be brilliant to win this one for the fans having already beaten Sheffield Wednesday.
"I know how fiery derbies can be and hopefully I can draw on my previous experiences and help some of the other lads on Monday, because 'Morgs' will be a massive loss to the team.
"The atmosphere will be fierce, but you get used to things like that and it won't affect our performance.
"In this division anything can happen as we see every week, but the lads are working hard every day to make sure we get things right."
