Jon Stead is urging his team-mates not to take anything for granted as the Blades prepare to face his former club Huddersfield Town in the second round of the Carling Cup on Wednesday evening.
Stead, who will be hoping for a rare start, says the Blades can learn lessons from their pre-season defeat against the same opposition:
"We know they will be strong and organised and it is a massive opportunity for them to cause an upset.
"We lost there in a friendly and we don't want to be the victims of a shock on Wednesday. We are aiming to go far in this competition and go there only thinking about winning."
A former Terriers favourite, Stead appreciates that it will be tough, but insists the Blades must be on their toes first and foremost to reduce the likelihood of coming unstuck in West Yorkshire:
"Make no mistake, these games are potential banana skins, but it will be as difficult as we make it. If we do the right things it should be a decent game, which we win, but if not, life could prove to be very tricky for us.
"They are struggling at the moment, but sometimes a cup run can shadow out what is happening in the league and some sides play with more freedom when the pressure isn't on them."
