Let's have a go

Posted on: Wed 31 Oct 2007

Blades boss Bryan Robson is urging his players to 'have a go' at Arsenal ahead of Wednesday night's Carling Cup clash at Bramall Lane.

Robson feels the opportunity for his players to pit their wits against top-flight opposition is a welcome distraction from the grind of the Championship.

He began: "It's great for the players and fans, because they have really missed Premiership football, and this gives us an opportunity to test ourselves against a very good side."

The manager is urging his side to continue their improvements in recent matches, by taking the game to Arsene Wenger's men.

He continued: "We must enjoy the occasion and have a go at Arsenal. I have seen a vast improvement recently and we are getting back on track."

The boss also believes his team must demonstrate their battling qualities against the Gunners, having previously faced lower league clubs in this season's competition.

He concluded: "In the last three rounds we have done professional jobs on the League Two sides we have drawn.

"Playing against Arsenal sees us come up against players with excellent ability even though it will probably be their squad players that start. I want our lads to go out there and try and win the game."
